Out of Bounds (Rule 27)
A ball is out of bounds if it is lying on or beyond any metalled road, wall or fence bounding the course.
Ground Under Repair (Rule 25)
i) A player may obtain relief if he suffers interference (all as defined by the Rule) from:
Outcrops of bare rock.
Horses’ hoof marks.
ii) A player MUST take relief if he suffers interference from any area marked as GUR.
Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2)
All artificial or man-made objects on the course are obstructions, including artificial surfaces and artificial surrounds of paths including cockleshell and sprinkler heads. Relief may be taken as specified in the Rules or in the case of greenside fixed sprinkler heads, the Specimen Local Rule, which is declared to be part of these Local Rules.
Stones in Bunkers (Rule 24.1)
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions.
Embedded Ball (Rule 25.2)
Fairways and tees are “closely-mown areas” for the purpose of this Rule. “Closely mown” includes not only the fairways and the fringes or aprons of the greens, but also any paths cut through the rough to fairway height or less.
Bunker Faces (Rule 25.2)
The face of a bunker which consists of stacked turf is neither a) part of the bunker nor b) a “closely-mown area”.
