Many members may have heard or indeed read about the latest strategy documents that are being circulated by Scottish Golf Ltd (SGL). They are proposing quite radical changes to how Clubs run their own business affairs in terms of visitor tee times and CRM systems. On top of this they are proposing a fairly sizeable increase in the fees due to SGL from each and every member of all affiliated golf clubs in Scotland. Clubs will vote on the strategy proposals at the Scottish Golf Ltd AGM on the 2nd December at the Stirling Court Hotel.

Following their recent meeting last Monday, the Committee at GGC are at present finding it very difficult for the Club to align itself with the strategy proposals that are being put forward by SGL, many of which are poorly laid out in terms of delivery and timescale. The Committee has had sight of all documentation in relation to this very important matter and will continue reviewing the Club’s position in this regard should any further information come from SGL.
The Club is also liaising with golf clubs of a similar size and stature, not only locally, but throughout Scotland to try to establish how they are proceeding with the SGL proposals.
I will of course keep members informed as things progress on this matter.
Should members have any questions on this, please feel free to drop me a line or pop in and see me.
