The Heritage of Golf Museum is located next to the Professional's Shop and is a privately owned Museum run by Archie Baird, one of the Club's Honorary Members.
The museum shows how the game developed after it arrived in Scotland from Holland between 1400 and 1500 AD.
The museum shows the simple beginnings, the natural materials and the craft and skill of the early makers; some success and failures in early experiments and the beginnings of the modern game.
The display tells the story from the time when only a few people in the East of Scotland coaxed their "featheries" round the rough links to the present day when multitudes of men and women spend vast fortunes on this pastime of beauty and skill.
The museum is opened by appointment. Please call Archie Baird on (44) 0 1875 870 277.
There is no charge to visit the museum but donations are much appreciated.
